‘Jubiliations aming students, emotional scenes too at some schools'

Srinagar, Mar 01 (KNO): After a gap of nearly eleven months, the schools in winter zones of Jammu and Kashmir divisions reopened on Monday for physical academic activities from 9th to 12th standard.
Top officials of Directorate of School Education Kashmir (DSEK) told the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) that there was a good footfall of students in almost Secondary School of Kashmir.
“A good footfall of students was registered in almost all schools of Kashmir and winter zones of Jammu division,” the official said.
He said that all tools of COVID-19 were in place and recommended Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s) were also ensured.
“Social distancing and other important SOP’s were being followed by the staff and students,” the official said adding that in some schools the classes were being conducted in phased manner wherein the student enrolment was huge.
Meanwhile, one of the students Nazia Shah told KNO. “Students were not able to learn properly via online classes but we hope that resumption of offline learning will help students in compensating the academic losses that they suffered in COVID-19 lockdown.”
Another student, Zaid Iqbal said that the students were at the verge of entering the first stage of depression for being home for a long time.
He said, “Students were eagerly waiting for reopening of schools for physical academic activities. Most of the students were almost in the first stage of depression for being home for a long time.”
The government in last week of February said that the schools of elementary level will reopen for physical academic activities from March-08 while the classes of secondary level will resume the offline learning from March-01—(KNO)
